A contemporary version of Max and Moritz

Eva Rottmann’s rhyming story is about two friends who, like Max and Moritz, the well-known figures from Wilhelm Busch`s book, are always up to all kinds of pranks. However, they are always caught and punished – Murat, at least, because people assume he is capable of anything simply because he has a foreign-sounding name and darker skin. The blond Max, on the other hand, is always given the benefit of the doubt. This continues through the seventh and final prank, but then something unexpected happens …

Eva Rottmann has written the story in the style of Wilhelm Busch, while Jokin Michelena’s illustrations evoke Busch without imitating him, making his influence recognizable while remaining distinctly their own.
