When Thais eat together, everything is shared. Normally three to seven dishes are served at the same time, along with freshly steamed rice and a soup. Each meal must consist of a lightly spiced, a well-seasoned and a hot dish and all dishes (that actually goes without saying) must look really appetizing on top – just like this book does.
Chainarong F. Toperngpong does not only present his most beloved Thai family recipes, but also those that belonged to the classics in his father’s BAANTHAI restaurant. In addtition, he introduces us to Thai table manners and customs and shares with us some of the most hilarious anecdotes from the restaurant. And the gorgeous colourful and exotic illustrations by Gisela Goppel, a profound connoisseur of Thailand, do not only wet the appetite, but are a proper treat for the eyes.
