Andy tells the story of a hot summer. The book is about the taste of chlorine on your skin, the smell of salty french fries, first erotic advances and how a few accurately jumped cannonballs can change everything. Only Jan knows that this summer, as they are all coming of age, will be their last one together. Florian Wacker describes this seemingly ordinary summer with such intensity and lightness that you can almost feel the sun on your skin.
Basically this summer is just like all the previous ones. Hot and sunny. 16 year old Jan and his friends Claire, Elli, Jonas and Hank spend every spare minute in the pool and practice the perfect jump. Born 1980 in Stuttgart, Florian Wacker, has studied remedial teaching and at the German Literary Institute in Leipzig. He has worked in the youth and disabled people care as well as in the adolescent psychiatry. His literary work has appeared in numerous of anthologies and literary journals and he has won several awards. In 2014 the first volume of stories was published. Andy is his first novel. Florian Wacker lives in Frankfurt am Main.
